Boats & Yachts - Overview
Boats and any vessel sailing in seawater is subjected
to the corrosion damage that invariably affects metals (iron in
particular) that are in contact with sea water. Even vessels with
non-metal hulls must have their rudders, propeller, engines, coolers
etc. protected. Painting only offers limited protection so a cathodic
protection system must be employed using sacrificial anodes, impressed
currents, or a combination of both. Polipodio has a vast range of
products designed to protect your vessel !.
Sacrificial Anodes
Polipodio's extensive range of high quality sacrificial zinc, aluminium,
and magnesium anodes that are designed to offer a constant and measurable
protection on all the submerged metal parts on every type of boat
and small vessel.
Our weld-on, bolt-on, and special shape anodes are used to protect
the boat's hull and appendages (stabiliser fins, rudder, propeller,
etc.), sea suctions, water tanks, coolers and engines both inboard
and outboard.
C.I.P.S. Shaft Monitoring systems
The C.I.P.S. DGT system is E. POLIPODIO’S solution for a constant
control of the protection state of subnerged metal structures (hull,
propeller, rudder, sea water intakes, etc.).
This indispensable instrument guarantees real time monitoring of
the protection values, and, thanks to its alarm for the detection
of corrosion or over-protection, allows immediate action in case
of anomalies. The system can be supplied with a trasducer for the
trasmission of the data recorded to a computer.
