Industry Cathodic Protection - Overview

Oil refineries, chemical works, power stations, water treatment plants and other industrial complexes that have overground and underground pipework, coolers, boilers, tanks, etc. must protect themselves from the threat of galvanic and electrolytic corrosion.
Paint, coatings, and the use of special materials can provide some defence but a cathodic protection system must be employed using sacrificial anodes, impressed currents, or a combination of both.
